Why is an Arts Organization Involved in Housing?

At Englewood Arts, we believe that a thriving community requires both creative spaces and stable places to live. When neighborhoods revitalize, rising costs often displace the very artists and long-term residents who make the community vibrant. We are actively working to prevent that.  

We are dedicated to building community through the arts and championing affordable, attainable housing in the Englewood neighborhood. While we do not build houses or issue mortgages ourselves, we act as a vital bridge between our neighbors, financial institutions, and city planners to make homeownership a reality.

Facilitate Connections: We bridge the gap between residents, local banks, and housing affordability agencies.

Advocate for Zoning: We collaborate with local government to promote affordable zoning policies.

Support Artists: We provide below-market-rate housing specifically for visiting and resident artists.

What We Do

Issue Loans: We do not provide direct financing or mortgages.

Build Subdivisions: We do not act as a large-scale residential developer or contractor.

Act as a Public Landlord: We do not manage public or general community rental properties.
