Bio:

Fracture! is a newly formed saxophone quartet at the UMKC Conservatory studying under Professor Zach Shemon. The ensemble strives to act as pioneers in expanding the chamber music repertoire for the saxophone. Together, they have led clinics and masterclasses for junior high, high school, and college level students. Members of the quartet have been announced as winners of various concerto competitions, commissioned and premiered new works, and performed internationally.

Above all else, the members of Fracture! have a passion for exploring the unique depth of color and expressive capabilities of the saxophone, as well as sharing music with each other and their community. Their diverse contrasts of humor and wit have helped to develop a unique group identity, and often leads to longer rehearsals and many inside jokes. Outside of rehearsal, the ensemble enjoys exploring what Kansas City has to offer in the realms of art, food, culture, and fellowship.
