Inaugural Exhibit - Englewood Arts Artists in Residence
EVERYWHERE - HERE
June 21 - September 21
Artists need space in which to create …
… to imagine
… to experiment
… to be inspired by others
That is what Englewood Arts imagined when it took an abandoned building and breathed new life into its bones. Englewood Arts welcomed the community and also extended an open invitation to creative individuals to become “artists in residence.”
EVERYWHERE-HERE is the inaugural exhibit of Englewood Arts first class of artists in residence.
Six artists share what time, open space and a collaborative community of practice have allowed them to create.
The exhibit will include a ceramic installation, large soft sculptures, glass, textiles, paintings and illustrations. The work is varied and engaging.
The exhibit art was created HERE - in the Englewood Arts Center. And the ideas and people come from EVERYWHERE; nothing pulled out of storage or arrived on a loan.
The artists are from different places, employ different mediums and are at different places in their lives and careers.
But each artist offers visible, vibrant evidence of the idea that animated the efforts behind Englewood Arts - creating an open, adaptable, inclusive and collaborative space “where art lives.”
